How to get a medical marijuana card

For those who don’t know me, you should know that I suffer from pretty bad anxiety. For years I didn’t know what to do in terms of treatment. I then found medical marijuana and haven’t turned back. If you want to know about my struggle and how easy it was to find a solution, read my previous blog post title “Finally taking the medical marijuana route.” Today I am mainly talking about how easy it was to get a medical marijuana card.

First, did you know that 33 states currently allow for medical marijuana? Check to see if your state is one of those lucky ones. Most people think medical grade weed is only for severe issues like cancer, epilepsy, PTSD and Parkinson’s Disease. However, there is an “other” category that allows medical issues with similar debilitating conditions like depression, anxiety and migraines. Your condition is most likely going to be allowed for medical grade weed. The question is how do you get it?

The first step to getting a medical marijuana card is finding a doctor that can prescribe medical marijuana. There are lists online of doctors in each state that can do this. I also found a website for my state that guides me through the whole process. I filled out a form to be medical marijuana qualified and they helped me through everything. They found me a doctor, got my appointment booked and made everything so simple.

Actually seeing the doctor wasn’t all that scary. The appointment was maybe ten minutes. My doctor asked me a few questions and then he recommended cannabis oil for my anxiety. There was no quiz, light bulbs above my head or heavy interrogation. It was like any other appointment.

Next, after my appointment I received log in credentials to apply for a medical marijuana card. I filled out a form, paid a few bucks, and waited around 3 weeks for my temporary card to come in the mail. The form was my registry identification card and it wasn’t difficult at all. After getting state approval, I then had to purchase a medical marijuana card for $75. Then I was good to go to any legal weed shop in my area. I can grab the prescribed amount of cannabis oil allowed. See, not all that hard, get your medical marijuana today!
